Operation Guide

Power Dump Dolly™

BEFORE OPERATING THE POWER DUMP DOLLY

The Power Dump Dolly is shipped with the clutch disengaged to prevent any accidental operation of the Dump Dolly while in transit. Before using, ensure that you engage the clutch on the motor by turning the large yellow dial on the winch, located under the winch cover, to the left or counter-clockwise direction. NOTE: Should the Power Dump Dolly’s sliding carriage get stuck at the top of the dolly, disengaging the clutch will allow the operator to hold onto the carriage and lower it to the bottom without the clutch being engaged. To disengage or freespool, turn the yellow dial clockwise to the right.

  1. Move dolly nose plate under the trash can.
  2. Loosen black trash can clip knob and push the adjustable trash can clip down over the lip of the trash can.
  3. Tighten black trash can clip knob. CAUTION: Do not overtighten the knob.
  4. Place elastic cord around the base of the trash can.
  5. While holding the container with your hand, lean the dolly backward. Position both the black or orange colored dumpster hooks over the front lip of the dumpster.
  6. Push the electric retract “up” button and raise the trash can carriage to the top until it stops and the stop arrows align. Stop and release the switch once at the top although safety switches at the top will prevent the carriage from going up once at the top.
  7. Dump trash into the dumpster.
  8. Return carriage and trash can to the bottom by pushing the extend “down” button. Release button once at the bottom. A safety switch at the bottom will also shut off the down motion should operator not be attentive to the dumping process.
  9. Only raise the carriage when the Dump Dolly is in an inclined position and attached to the dumpster. Raising the carriage when the Dump Dolly is standing straight up can cause it to fall over and cause injury and/or damage the Dump Dolly.

Crank Dump Dolly™

  1. Move dolly nose plate under the trash can.
  2. Loosen black trash can clip knob and push the adjustable trash can clip anchor down over the lip of the trash can.
  3. Tighten black trash can clip knob. CAUTION: Do not overtighten the knob.
  4. Place elastic cord around the base of the trash can.
  5. While grabbing the container with your hand, lean the dolly backward. Position both the black or orange colored dumpster hooks over the front lip of the dumpster.
  6. Crank in a clockwise direction and stop cranking when the container carriage stops at the top of the dolly and when the two stop arrows align. The safety latch near the crank handle will fall into place and prevents the carriage from unintentionally returning to the bottom. DO NOT over crank after hitting the stops at the top.  Stop at the top when the arrows align.
  7. Dump trash into the dumpster.
  8. Return carriage and trash can to the bottom by keeping one hand on the crank handle at all times and releasing the safety latch. Crank winch has an automatic braking device that will prevent a load from falling uncontrollably to the bottom. You must crank the winch in a counter-clockwise to return it to the bottom.
  9. Only raise the carriage when the Dump Dolly is in an inclined position and attached to the dumpster. Raising the carriage when the Dump Dolly is standing straight up can cause it to fall over and cause injury and/or damage the Dump Dolly.
